A minor Hindu girl has been abducted and forcibly married off to an elderly man who converted her to Islam in Pakistan's Sindh province, community members revealed on Thursday. This incident emerged shortly after another minor Hindu girl, kidnapped from Hyderabad, was returned to her family on court orders following a year-long ordeal.

Shiva Faqir Kaachi, leader of the Pakistan Darawar Ittehad organisation, stated that the 16-year-old girl was taken from her village in Hunguru on Wednesday and married off to a much older man who converted her to Islam. 'The girl was taken to a seminary near the Samura area and married off. When her parents arrived at the seminary on Thursday, the cleric denied them entry,' Kaachi reported.

Kaachi remarked that due to their poverty, Hindu families in Pakistan often find their women to be easy targets. Families face immense challenges in reclaiming abducted women due to systemic lack of support. His organisation intends to pursue legal action to recover the teenage girl, though the timeframe remains uncertain. Kaachi cited previous similar incidents, highlighting the community's ongoing struggle against these injustices.
