In a significant crackdown, the district administration and police teams in East Delhi's Mayur Vihar area conducted raids at eight locations, rescuing 26 child labourers, officials reported.

The children, aged between 9 and 14, were found working under highly exploitative conditions and inadequate living spaces in the Kondli and Ghadoli localities. Authorities received information about the child labour from various sources, including NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan.

The rescued children underwent medical examinations and were taken to a children's home. They are set to appear before the child welfare committee on Friday for statement recording, and legal actions against the employers will follow based on these statements.
