A court sentenced three men to rigorous imprisonment for 10 years, more than 12 years after they committed a dacoity on a bus. Principal District and Sessions Judge Shail Jain heard the arguments on sentencing against the culprits.

The court imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on the accused. Prosecution revealed that Arshad, Mohammed Saleem, and Asmat Ali, along with two others, snatched Rs 19,000 from Ram Yadav on a bus journey from Laxmi Nagar to Jaitpur in April 2012. They were apprehended near the Laxmi Nagar flyover, though two others escaped capture.

In June, the court convicted them for dacoity, highlighting the crime involved five or more individuals committing robbery. Saleem was additionally convicted for dishonestly receiving stolen property. The jury emphasized the severity of the crime in its September 7 verdict, sentencing all convicts to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and Saleem to an additional five years for the separate offense. The sentences will run concurrently.
