A POCSO court on Thursday sentenced Jaber Singh to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a five-year-old boy over three years ago. According to Government Counsel Pradeep Balyan, Special Judge Shrimati Manjula Bhalotya found Singh guilty under IPC Section 377 and Sections 5 and 6 of the POCSO Act.

'The court awarded him life imprisonment,' Balyan said. In addition to the prison sentence, the court imposed a ₹50,000 fine on the accused, with the entire amount to be given to the victim as compensation.

As per the prosecution, the crime occurred in March 2021 when Singh lured the child to his home under the pretense of offering Rs 5 and subsequently sexually assaulted him. The victim's father filed the complaint that led to Singh's conviction.
