Russian shelling on Thursday tragically claimed the lives of three individuals and left two others injured in the frontline village of Viroliubivka within Ukraine's Donetsk region, according to regional governor Vadym Filashkin.

Among the casualties, a business was struck in the village and both a truck filled with humanitarian aid and a passenger vehicle were destroyed, Filashkin reported via Telegram.

The Donetsk region, which sees frequent Russian shelling and airstrikes, remains a hotspot in the ongoing conflict. Despite Moscow's assertions that it does not target civilians or civilian infrastructure, thousands have perished in the strikes.
