Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Gen C Q Brown, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will host the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at Ramstein Air Force Base. The group, comprising military leaders from over 50 nations, has been instrumental in providing crucial military aid to Ukraine since Russia's invasion in February 2022.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy continues to press for enhanced air defenses and fewer restrictions on the usage of US-provided munitions. Despite the severity of the situation, the US maintains strict control over their missile systems to avoid further escalation. Since the conflict began, member nations have collectively offered around USD 106 billion in security aid, with the US contributing more than half.
