A woman aged 28 was fatally stabbed by her brother-in-law in the Kapashera area of southwest Delhi, according to officials on Thursday.

The authorities responded to a PCR call at 10.38 pm on Wednesday, reporting the murder. Upon arriving at the scene, the police discovered the victim's body with multiple stab wounds inside a house.

The suspect, a 32-year-old man identified as the victim's brother-in-law, was on the run. Crime scene and Forensic Science Laboratory teams collected evidence, and a murder investigation commenced. It was revealed that the suspect had an illicit relationship with the victim, leading to an argument on Wednesday.

The victim, employed as a receptionist, was married to a man working in an online product sales company. The accused also worked for his brother’s company. Multiple police teams were dispatched to capture the suspect.

The following morning, at 8.30 am, Delhi Cantt Railway Police Station reported finding an unidentified, injured person on a railway track near Bijwasan Railway Station who was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital. He was later identified as the accused from the Kapashera murder case. His condition is critical, and the police are investigating whether he was struck by a train or attacked. Further investigations are ongoing.
