External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held a significant meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, extending the personal greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Jaishankar, on the second leg of his three-nation tour, arrived in Germany from Saudi Arabia after participating in the inaugural India-Gulf Cooperation Council Ministerial Meeting for Strategic Dialogue.

During his time in Berlin, Jaishankar had in-depth discussions with key German officials, including Jens Plotner, Security and Foreign Policy Advisor to the Federal Chancellor, and Friedrich Merz, Chairman of the CDU party. Their conversations covered vital aspects of the India-Germany strategic partnership and bilateral relationships, as well as regional and global issues.

On Tuesday, Jaishankar engaged with Michael Roth, chairman of the German Parliament's committee on foreign affairs, where they discussed global challenges and new collaboration opportunities. The minister also participated in a session with foreign affairs and security policy experts organized by the Munich Security Conference.
