Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday formed a five-member ministerial committee to oversee and streamline the investigation into various scams that took place, particularly during the BJP's tenure.

Headed by Home Minister G Parameshwara, the committee has been instructed to finalize its findings within two months.

Included in the committee are Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil, Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge, and Labour Minister Santosh Lad.

Earlier, Parameshwara indicated to reporters that 20-25 scams were under scrutiny from the BJP era.

'A cabinet sub-committee was formed in the last cabinet meeting, and I have been appointed as the Chairman. The Chief Minister has mandated a report within two months, and we have initiated the review process. We have identified around 20-25 scams for investigation,' he stated.

'If BJP engages in vendetta politics, what recourse do we have? We must also engage in political actions, hence the need for reports and subsequent actions against these alleged scams,' he added when asked if the government was retaliating against opposition allegations.
