Russian Forces Advance in Eastern Ukraine Amid Failed Ukrainian Incursion

Russia has reported new advances in Eastern Ukraine, despite a failed Ukrainian incursion into Russian territory. The offensive continues in the Donbas region, with Russian forces capturing more villages. Reports remain unverified, with high casualties on both sides as the conflict intensifies.

On Tuesday, Russia reported new territorial gains in eastern Ukraine, undistracted by a failed Ukrainian incursion into Russian territory.

Sergei Shoigu, secretary of the Security Council, stated the incursion aimed to boost Kyiv's negotiation stance and divert Moscow's forces in Donbas. Nevertheless, Russian forces have continued their offensive, capturing four additional villages.

Shoigu noted that Russia had gained nearly 1,000 sq km in August-September, claiming Ukraine was losing up to 2,000 soldiers daily. These battlefield reports, however, could not be independently verified by Reuters.
