Following the October 7 Hamas attack on Israeli civilians and soldiers, Israel has intensified its strikes on Iranian-backed militia targets in Syria, including Syrian army air defenses. The latest strike injured 13 people, many critically, with ambulances still ferrying the wounded from Misyaf.

Two regional intelligence sources confirmed the research center, suspected of chemical arms production and housing Iranian military experts, was hit multiple times. Syrian state media also reported two fires caused by the strikes, which are being extinguished. Israel has not commented.
