Israeli Strikes on Syrian Research Center Kill Civilians
Multiple Israeli airstrikes on Syria's Hama countryside killed at least four civilians and injured 13 people, including several critically. The attacks targeted a major military research center near Misyaf, which is believed to be involved in chemical arms production with Iranian military experts.
Multiple Israeli airstrikes late Sunday night killed at least four civilians in Syria's Hama countryside, according to Syrian state media. Sources indicate the target was a major military research center.
Following the October 7 Hamas attack on Israeli civilians and soldiers, Israel has intensified its strikes on Iranian-backed militia targets in Syria, including Syrian army air defenses. The latest strike injured 13 people, many critically, with ambulances still ferrying the wounded from Misyaf.
Two regional intelligence sources confirmed the research center, suspected of chemical arms production and housing Iranian military experts, was hit multiple times. Syrian state media also reported two fires caused by the strikes, which are being extinguished. Israel has not commented.
