In a distinctive initiative, the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff is conducting a Combined Operational Review and Evaluation (CORE) programme this week to enhance strategic planning abilities among senior officers of the tri-services.

The programme, spanning five days and hosted at United Services Institution (USI) starting Monday, is tailored to prepare senior military personnel for future leadership roles, according to the defence ministry.

Aimed at major generals from the three branches of the armed forces and top officials from various ministries, the initiative seeks to foster jointness and integration, facilitating a deeper comprehension of the operational environment.

Emphasizing the importance of modernisation, the ministry highlighted the need for future leaders to adapt to changing geopolitical dynamics and futuristic combat scenarios influenced by disruptive technologies.

The event will feature lectures and panel discussions by 30 prominent speakers and experts on themes including the evolving nature of warfare, cyber security, artificial intelligence, and recent global conflicts.
