Punjab Police Foils Major Terror Plot, Arrests 33 Terrorists

Law enforcement agencies in Punjab province, Pakistan, have successfully thwarted a major terror plot by arresting 33 terrorists from various banned organizations, including Al-Qaeda and 133 Brigade, police officials announced on Saturday.
According to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab police, 475 intelligence-based operations were carried out across different districts, leading to the registration of 32 cases against the terrorists, who have been transferred to an undisclosed location.
"At least 475 suspected persons were interrogated," the CTD reported, adding, "The terror plot in Punjab was foiled by arresting 33 terrorists belonging to banned outfits during operations in different areas of Punjab." Seized items included explosives, hand grenades, IED bombs, detonators, pistols, bullets, and banned literature.
