Swift Police Action Foils Bus Robbery in Madhya Pradesh

In a daring morning incident on Friday, two masked men boarded a private bus in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, and robbed passengers at gunpoint. The police have confirmed that the culprits, identified as Rahul Tiwari and Rajendra Patel, were apprehended within hours of the crime, which was driven by their need to repay loans taken for motorcycles.
According to eyewitnesses, the robbers fired a shot into the air when passengers resisted. They initially flagged down the bus at Pathariya crossing, about 8 km from the district headquarters. Superintendent of Police Aagam Jain stated that the assailants forcibly took money, a mangalsutra, and a mobile phone from a female passenger. The bus driver, Kishori Kushwaha, described the terrifying moment when one of the robbers waved a firearm at him and took the bus keys. Further accounts from passengers detailed their traumatic experiences during the robbery.
Among the victims was Aarti Ahirwar, a laborer from Lavkush Nagar, who recounted how the robbers snatched her mangalsutra and her child's gold locket, claiming Rs 18,000 from her husband as well. The police acted swiftly to capture the culprits and ensure justice for the affected passengers.
