Donald Trump is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, followed by a press conference, as his lawyers seek to overturn a $5 million verdict finding him liable for sexually abusing columnist E. Jean Carroll in 1996.

This event highlights the contrasting approaches of Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of their Tuesday debate: Trump remains in the public eye, while Harris prepares privately in Pittsburgh. Trump's strategy often includes engaging with friendly reporters, unlike Harris, who has conducted limited media interactions.

After the court hearing, Trump plans to address reporters at his New York tower. A Manhattan jury held Trump responsible for sexual abuse in May, although his legal team contests the verdict. Amidst numerous legal challenges, Trump did not attend the Carroll trial but condemned the verdict online.

Later on Friday, Trump will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, to speak at the Fraternal Order of Police. Carroll, one of many women accusing Trump of sexual misconduct, publicly shared her account in a 2019 memoir, which Trump has vehemently denied.

Facing unprecedented legal jeopardy for a major-party nominee, Trump's other legal woes include 34 felony counts in New York related to hush money allegations, civil fines for wealth misrepresentation, and cases involving mishandling classified documents and actions during the Capitol insurrection. These trials may not conclude before the next election.
