The Ministry of Panchayati Raj and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) India have entered into a strategic collaboration, formalized through the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI). The partnership aims to enhance communication and engagement between the Ministry, elected representatives, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), field functionaries, and rural communities across India.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to accelerate progress toward localized Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by creating systems for more effective communication, especially with women and children in rural areas. The collaboration will focus on improving service delivery to rural citizens by fostering stronger connections between government policies and the people they aim to serve.

By leveraging technology, the Ministry and UNICEF India intend to create mechanisms that ensure timely and clear communication, helping rural citizens access essential services more efficiently. The goal is to empower rural communities to make informed decisions, thereby fostering a more inclusive, transparent, and connected governance system in India’s rural landscape. This partnership reflects the government's commitment to using innovative solutions to achieve social change and strengthen the role of PRIs in sustainable development.
