Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan has called for robust international police cooperation to combat transnational crimes. Speaking at the 10th Interpol Liaison Officers Conference, organized by the CBI, Mohan highlighted the dangers posed by safe havens for criminals exploiting differences in international jurisdictions.

The home secretary emphasized the necessity of an internationally connected policing system in the face of an increasingly connected world. He pointed out that the collection of digital and foreign-located evidence is crucial for the prevention, detection, investigation, and prosecution of crimes that cross borders.

Mohan underlined India's efforts to strengthen global law enforcement ties, mentioning the recent working arrangement with Europol and the CBI's inclusion in the Interpol Global Academy Network. He also announced the significant role of the CBI's Global Operation Centre in handling international assistance requests and the launch of a user-friendly MHA online portal for mutual legal assistance.
