Hindu right-wing bodies staged a massive protest at Chaura Maidan near the Vidhan Sabha on Thursday, demanding the demolition of what they called an 'illegal' mosque in Sanjauli.
Dev Bhumi Shatriya Sangathan President Rumit Singh Thakur organized the protest, responding to an attack on a businessman on September 1 by alleged members of the Muslim community.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu assured that all actions would adhere to the law, emphasizing that peaceful protests are permitted but lawlessness will not be tolerated. Officials confirmed the mosque is on government land and subject to legal review.
