The Delhi High Court has called for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to present its stance on the bail pleas of four co-owners of an Old Rajinder Nagar coaching center basement. The basement witnessed a tragic incident in July when three civil service aspirants drowned following heavy rains.

Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma issued a notice to the CBI regarding the bail applications of Parvinder Singh, Tajinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, and Sarbjit Singh. The case, originally investigated by the Delhi Police under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, has since been transferred to the CBI.

The accused, who have been in custody for almost six weeks, claim that they had leased the basement to Rau's IAS Study Circle and should not be held liable for the deaths. The court has scheduled a further hearing for September 11 and permitted the father of one of the deceased to file a short reply to the bail pleas.
