Three civilians lost their lives and two others were injured following Ukrainian shelling of a village in Russia's Belgorod region, as reported by governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on Wednesday.
The Belgorod region has been routinely subjected to cross-border shelling and drone assaults throughout the duration of the war. This area borders the Kursk region, where Ukrainian forces breached Russia's western frontier last month during an incursion that Russian forces are still struggling to repel.
These events highlight the continued volatility and violence impacting border regions amid the protracted conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
