Family Dispute Turns Deadly: Cousin Kills Young Man with Hammer

A 20-year-old man, Rakesh Kumar, was killed by his cousin Ravinder during a property dispute. The incident occurred in Rakesh’s home, where his mother was also injured while trying to intervene. Police have formed three teams to apprehend Ravinder.

A brutal family dispute over property led to the death of 20-year-old Rakesh Kumar, who was killed with a hammer by his cousin on Wednesday.

Authorities report that Rakesh was attacked while sleeping in his home by the accused cousin, Ravinder. Rakesh's brother, Rajesh, informed the police about the family history of disputes over a plot of land which had been previously resolved in a panchayat.

When Rakesh's mother attempted to intervene, Ravinder attacked her as well before fleeing the scene. Both victims were rushed to a nearby private hospital, where Rakesh was pronounced dead. Police have formed three teams to capture Ravinder and have seized the hammer used in the attack. Station House Officer (SHO) Arjun Dev confirmed the investigation is ongoing and the injured mother is stable.
