The Delhi High Court on Wednesday demanded a response from Tihar Jail authorities regarding a plea by AAP MP Sanjay Singh, who alleged he was denied a meeting with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in prison.

Singh argued that the jail authorities prohibited a physical meeting due to his ex-prisoner status. Justice Neena Bansal Krishna has given the jail authorities three days to respond, listing the case for a September 9 hearing.

Kejriwal is currently held in Tihar Jail on charges related to an alleged excise policy scam. Singh's counsel argued that the denial, based on Rule 588 of the Delhi Prison Rules, was a misuse, aimed at preventing ex-prisoners from negative influence rather than genuine interactions.
