Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, chaired a key introductory meeting with representatives from various Employers’ Organisations in New Delhi today as part of a series of stakeholder consultations on the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme. The meeting was also attended by Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment, Smt. Shobha Karandlaje, Secretary (L&E), Smt. Sumita Dawra, and other senior officials.

During the meeting, Dr. Mandaviya emphasized the importance of the ELI Scheme in advancing the shared goal of creating a more prosperous and inclusive India. He highlighted that employment generation remains a top priority for the government and underscored the need for collaboration among all stakeholders—government, businesses, and workers—to ensure the success of the scheme.

"The ELI Scheme is a significant step towards achieving meaningful and sustainable employment for the youth of our country. We are committed to designing a scheme that is robust, inclusive, and aligned with the needs of the economy," Dr. Mandaviya stated.

He invited suggestions from the attending organizations on the formulation of the ELI scheme, emphasizing the importance of their input in shaping a policy that encourages businesses to generate more employment opportunities.

Secretary (L&E) provided an overview of the ELI scheme's components and reaffirmed the government's commitment to job creation. Other issues related to labor welfare and employment generation were also discussed during the meeting, along with a presentation on the proposed ELI scheme.

Representatives from various Employer Organisations, including CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, PHDCCI, AIOE, Laghu Udyog Bharati, ICSI, FASII, AIAI, AIMO, SCOPE, and EFI, shared their perspectives on the scheme and other labor welfare measures being undertaken by the government. Dr. Mandaviya assured the participants that such consultations would be an ongoing process, with the government seeking their valuable inputs to ensure that policies and schemes are formulated in a manner that promotes fairness, inclusivity, and equitable growth.
