The Himachal Pradesh Assembly is set to hold 'Zero Hour' sessions starting Wednesday, following a consensus among all political parties, Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania announced in the House on Wednesday.

For the first time, the state assembly will conduct such sessions, which will be modeled after the Lok Sabha's practice. The sessions, lasting for half-an-hour, will take place immediately after the 'Question Hour'.

The introduction of 'Zero Hour' aims to provide assembly members with time to raise public interest issues that often go overlooked due to time constraints. According to Speaker Pathania, any issue not relevant to public interest will not be permitted during this period. While the decision for 'Zero Hour' has been made, the final implementation depends on the consensus of political parties.
