A 48-year-old labour contractor was apprehended in Madhya Pradesh on allegations of murdering his lover in the Indian capital, Delhi. The police identified the accused as Raju, also known as Ashok, a resident of Chittarkoot.

The incident came to light when police received information about a woman's murder in a rented house. The victim, Rani, was found dead on the third floor with her throat slit. Her landlord and another tenant provided crucial details, linking Rani's suspected lover to the crime.

Following several raids, Raju was arrested on Saturday. He confessed to suspecting Rani of infidelity after she moved to Delhi without informing him. The case has shed light on the complexities of their relationship and their migration from Kanpur to Delhi for work.
