The Delhi High Court has mandated Rapido, a bike-taxi aggregator, to conduct an audit on the accessibility of its services for individuals with disabilities. The audit must be submitted within three months.

Justice Sanjeev Narula issued the order while hearing a petition from disability rights activist Amar Jain and visually-impaired banker Dipto Ghosh Chaudhary, emphasizing the need for compliance from Rapido. The audit will be conducted by an auditor empanelled with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Roppen Transportation Services Pvt Ltd, the parent company of Rapido, reassured the court of its commitment to enhancing service accessibility and effectiveness. They have also pledged to introduce training programs for staff to better support individuals with disabilities and establish a continuous monitoring mechanism. The court has scheduled the next hearing for December 6, including inputs from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
