Pune Police Nab Four in Connection with Ex-Corporator Murder

Pune Police have arrested four individuals, including two sisters and their husbands, in connection with the murder of former corporator Vanraj Andekar. Initial investigations suggest that old rivalries and family disputes over property might be the motive behind the crime.

Pune Police have detained four suspects in the brutal killing of former corporator Vanraj Andekar. Among the arrested are his two sisters and their husbands, as reported by a senior officer on Monday.

Preliminary findings suggest that the murder was fueled by longstanding family and property-related disputes.

Andekar, in his late 30s and once a member of the Nationalist Congress Party, was attacked by a group of eight to nine individuals on motorcycles in the Nana Peth area. The assault, which occurred around 9:30 PM on Sunday, involved sharp weapons and possibly gunfire. However, the fatal injuries were caused by sharp weapons targeting his neck and head, according to the police.
