A final investigation report has revealed that the helicopter crash resulting in the death of Iran's late President Ebrahim Raisi was primarily caused by adverse weather conditions, including dense fog, according to Iran's state TV.

Ebrahim Raisi, recognized as a hardliner and a potential successor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, met his tragic end in a mountainous region close to the Azerbaijan border in May. The report concluded that challenging weather conditions were the primary cause of the incident.

The high committee assigned by Iran's military to investigate the crash indicated that the fog was a significant factor leading to the collision with the mountain. An earlier report in May had already dismissed any evidence of foul play or an attack.
