Militant Attack in Manipur's Imphal West District Leaves One Dead, Four Injured

In a tragic incident in Manipur's Imphal West district, a woman was killed and four others were injured in a gun-and-bomb attack by suspected militants on Sunday, according to police reports.
Authorities revealed that the militants fired indiscriminately from elevated positions towards the low-lying valley areas of Koutruk and Kadangband. This assault resulted in the death of 31-year-old Ngangbam Surbala Devi and injuries to her eight-year-old daughter and a police officer named N. Robert, among others. The unexpected attack caused widespread panic, prompting many residents, including women, children, and the elderly, to flee to safety.
The body of the deceased has been sent to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for post-mortem, while Devi's daughter and Officer Robert are receiving treatment at RIMS. Two other injured individuals are recuperating at Raj Medicity. Security forces have been deployed to the area to restore stability.
