Ukrainian Attack on Belgorod Leaves Five Dead, 46 Injured
Five people were killed and 46 injured in a Ukrainian attack on Belgorod. The incident, captured on dashboard video, led to a criminal investigation by Russian authorities. Ukraine has frequently targeted Belgorod and other Russian border regions, although both sides claim to avoid civilian targets.
Five people were killed and 46 injured in a Ukrainian attack on the southwestern Russian city of Belgorod late on Friday, according to local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
Gladkov reported that among the injured, 37 individuals, including seven children, were admitted to the hospital. Social media footage, allegedly depicting the attack, shows a car being blown up while in motion, followed by another explosion on the road's opposite side. Reuters has not verified the video's authenticity.
The Russian Investigation Committee stated on its Telegram channel that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the Belgorod attack. Additionally, a woman was reported injured on Saturday due to Ukrainian shelling of Shebekino, a border town in the Belgorod region.
