Santosh Kumar Bhagat, 47, was arrested on Friday for allegedly running an illegal LPG cylinder godown in outer-north Delhi's Narela area, authorities reported. Police discovered 529 gas cylinders, gas-refilling pumps, and commercial vehicles during the operation.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravi Kumar Singh, Bhagat from Sanjay Colony had a history of involvement in 15 prior criminal cases. The police found both commercial and domestic cylinders stored in the godown.

The Food Safety and Consumer Affairs team was alerted and all gas cylinders were handed over to a gas agency for custody. A case has been lodged under the Essential Commodities Act with further investigations ongoing.
