Two individuals, including a police constable, were arrested by the Arunachal Pradesh Police on charges of drug peddling, officials confirmed on Friday.

The arrests were made in Pusi Doke village, West Siang district, where authorities confiscated 13.36 grams of heroin valued at Rs 50,000, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Moge Bole.

Authorities launched the operation after receiving a tip-off regarding drugs being transported from Silapathar in Assam to the district headquarters, Aalo. A police team established a checkpoint at NH-13 near Pusi Doke village, the DSP stated.

At approximately 7:40 pm, the police halted a suspected vehicle and seized the contraband. It was later revealed that the vehicle used in the illicit activity belonged to the constable. A case was registered under the NDPS Act at Aalo police station against the arrested individuals, the DSP added.
