The district administration of Thane, Maharashtra, has provided Rs 4 lakh in compensation to the family of Rukminibai Gopal Mengala, who perished in a lightning strike in Murbad last week, according to officials.
Rukminibai and two other family members were struck by lightning at their residence in Chasole on August 22. While Rukminibai succumbed to her injuries, the two others sustained injuries. The information was confirmed by an official release.
The government moved swiftly to approve the compensation amount, delivering it within just six days of the incident.
