Tragedy Strikes Constable Recruitment: Aspirant Dies During Physical Test in Jharkhand
An aspirant undergoing treatment at Medinirai Medical College and Hospital in Jharkhand’s Palamu district died after fainting during the constable recruitment physical test. Out of 25 aspirants who fainted, one succumbed potentially due to drug intake, while two others were in critical condition. Investigations are ongoing.

In a tragic turn of events, an aspirant fainted and subsequently died during a physical test for a constable recruitment process in Jharkhand's Palamu district.
The deceased, one among 25 who fainted during the rigorous running test at Chiyanki airport, passed away on Thursday night at Medinirai Medical College and Hospital. The incident was confirmed by Debbrat Poddar, Officer-in-Charge of Medininagar Town police station.
Hospital superintendent (in-charge), R K Ranjan, suggested that the death might have stemmed from drug consumption, though investigations continue. Notably, 60 candidates have fainted over the past three days, with the recruitment process set to conclude on September 9, according to officials. Two of the aspirants remain critically ill and have been transferred to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi for treatment.
