The Ministry of Women and Child Development, under the leadership of Union Minister Smt. Annpurna Devi, has introduced the SHe-Box portal, a centralized platform designed to register and monitor complaints of sexual harassment against women in the workplace. The launch event took place in New Delhi today, where Smt. Annpurna Devi also unveiled the Ministry’s new website. The event was attended by Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Savitri Thakur, Secretary Shri Anil Malik, and other key officials.

The SHe-Box portal acts as a centralized repository for information related to Internal Committees (ICs) and Local Committees (LCs) across the country, covering both government and private sectors. It provides a unified platform for filing complaints, tracking their progress, and ensuring a time-bound response from ICs. The portal promises assured redressal of complaints and offers a streamlined process for all stakeholders involved. A designated nodal officer will facilitate real-time monitoring of complaints, enhancing accountability and transparency.

As India moves towards its centenary in 2047, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the government remains committed to “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). Women-led development has been a key focus over the past decade, with the government recognizing the critical role of women's leadership in driving inclusive economic growth. A key component of this initiative is ensuring that workplaces are safe and secure, allowing women to excel and succeed. The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, is central to protecting women from sexual harassment at work and addressing their grievances. The launch of the SHe-Box portal is a significant advancement in managing workplace sexual harassment complaints.

In addition to the SHe-Box portal, the Ministry launched its newly developed website, designed to enhance the Government of India's engagement with both national and global audiences. As digital platforms become the primary point of contact for citizens, the new website aims to establish a cohesive visual identity across all digital platforms, ensuring a strong and compelling presence.

Speaking at the event, Smt. Annpurna Devi highlighted the importance of this initiative, describing it as a crucial step in providing a more efficient and secure platform for addressing workplace-related sexual harassment complaints. She expressed confidence that the portal would allow complaints to be safely registered, ensuring the confidentiality of personal information.

The SHe-Box portal and the Ministry’s new website can be accessed at https://shebox.wcd.gov.in/ and https://wcd.gov.in/, respectively.
