Rahul Gandhi Demands Justice for Dalit Man's Killing in Uttar Pradesh

In an urgent appeal, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has called on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to expedite the arrest of the main suspect in the murder of a young Dalit man in Rae Bareli.
According to Gandhi in his letter dated August 26, Arjun Pasi, a 22-year-old resident of Pichwariya village, was shot dead on August 11, 2024. While six of the seven accused have been detained, the chief suspect, Vishal Singh, allegedly enjoys political protection and remains at large.
Gandhi, who met with local authorities and the victim's family, stressed that the Dalit community lives in fear and insecurity due to the delay in arresting the primary accused. He has urged Adityanath to ensure prompt justice for Pasi's family.
