A Chinese defence ministry spokesperson stated on Thursday that China is committed to managing its differences with the Philippines in the South China Sea but emphasized that its patience is 'limited'.
Recent weeks have seen a string of clashes and incidents on air and at sea at the disputed Sabina Shoal, heightening tensions between the two nations. China asserts sovereignty over nearly all of the South China Sea, including areas claimed by the Philippines.
According to Wu Qian, spokesperson at the Chinese defence ministry, U.S. support has emboldened the Philippines in making 'reckless provocations'. Wu made these remarks during a regular press conference.
