The Election Commission has taken a serious stance on a social media post by Haryana's BJP unit that featured a child in a campaign video, serving a notice to the party's state president demanding ''immediate corrective steps.''

The use of children in campaign activities is against EC guidelines. The Bharatiya Janata Party's Haryana state president has been asked to respond to the show-cause notice by 6 pm on Thursday.

The notice was issued by the state chief electoral officer after a 36-second video was posted on the BJP's official X handle. The video, shared by the Haryana AAP unit, shows a child endorsing the BJP and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
