In a shocking turn of events, the police have apprehended Rajiv Verma and his two sons in Hyderabad for allegedly swindling more than 5 kg of gold ornaments from a trader, Kapil Chohan. The stolen ornaments are valued at over Rs 3 crore.

Lalit Kumar, the Deputy Superintendent of Police in Mukerian, disclosed that the Verma family had invited Chohan to showcase his gold ornaments in their shop, under the pretense of introducing him to potential customers.

However, the family neither returned the gold nor paid Chohan for it, dissolving into thin air. Acting on Chohan's complaint, an FIR was lodged, and the accused were tracked and arrested using technical surveillance. The police have successfully recovered 2.31 kg of the stolen gold and are continuing their investigation to retrieve the remaining ornaments.
