Migrants Utilize Dense Mist to Reach Spanish Enclave
Dozens of migrants swam from Morocco to the Spanish enclave of Ceuta under the cover of mist. Local authorities intercepted many, handling the pressure with Moroccan counterparts. Spain's enclaves on Morocco's Mediterranean coast frequently face migrant crossing attempts. Detained migrants are typically sent back unless they're minors or asylum seekers.

Dozens of migrants took advantage of a dense mist to swim from Morocco to Ceuta, a Spanish enclave, on Sunday and Monday morning, according to local police reports.
Many were intercepted near the Tarajal beach, at Ceuta's southern limit. "There was pressure and we handled it with Morocco," the Guardia Civil spokesperson told Reuters, withholding numbers of attempted and repelled crossings.
Typically, migrants crossing the border are detained and sent back unless they are minors or seeking asylum. Two years ago, a stampede led to 23 deaths when around 2,000 migrants attempted to force entry into Melilla.
