Lie detection tests on Sanjay Roy, the primary suspect in the alleged rape and murder of a RG Kar Medical College trainee doctor, are in progress at Kolkata's Presidency Jail, officials confirmed on Sunday.
Two more individuals are expected to undergo similar tests at the CBI office in Kolkata. On Saturday, four people, including former principal Sandip Ghosh, were subjected to polygraph examinations.
The tests are being conducted by a team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Delhi. The CBI previously informed the Supreme Court that the crime scene had been tampered with, alleging attempts by local police to cover up the incident. The victim's body, bearing severe injuries, was found in the hospital's seminar hall on August 9, leading to widespread protests and the involvement of the CBI in the investigation on August 14.
