Mass Movement Brewing Over Demolition Notices in Jharkhand

Independent MLA Saryu Roy has announced plans to launch a mass movement against the East Singhbhum district administration in Jharkhand over demolition notices allegedly served for 150 houses.

Roy, who recently joined JD(U), questioned why these notices were issued, claiming the National Green Tribunal had no direct involvement. He described the district administration's actions as conspiratorial and accused them of having double standards, urging a mass protest against what he called whimsical orders to vacate public land.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Ajoy Kumar countered, alleging that senior BJP leader Arjun Munda filed the complaint prompting the notices and criticized Roy for not addressing the issue sooner. Kumar speculated a conspiracy to displace residents to build a sewage treatment plant.
