Karkala Abduction and Assault: Police Arrest Two Suspects

A 24-year-old woman from Karkala was allegedly kidnapped, drugged, and raped by Althaf, an acquaintance from Instagram, and his accomplice Richard Cardoza. Both suspects have been arrested by police. The victim is receiving treatment at Kasturba Hospital. The case is being processed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Samhita.

A 24-year-old woman was reportedly kidnapped, drugged, and raped in Karkala by an acquaintance and his accomplice, police revealed on Saturday.

The crime occurred within Karkala town on the night of August 23. The main suspect, Althaf, allegedly kidnapped the woman after visiting her workplace, police said.

Althaf and his accomplice, Richard Cardoza, have been apprehended and their vehicles seized. The victim is under treatment at Kasturba Hospital. Authorities have filed charges under sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Samhita, including abduction and rape.
