Internet personality Andrew Tate has been placed under house arrest by a Romanian court amid an investigation into human trafficking and sexual exploitation, his representative announced on Thursday.

Tate, a former professional kickboxer, and his brother Tristan were among six individuals taken into custody following raids by Romania's anti-organized crime unit, DIICOT. The court rejected DIICOT's request for a 30-day arrest, opting instead for house arrest for Andrew and judicial control for Tristan, according to their representative Mateea Petrescu.

Petrescu emphasized the Tates' denial of the accusations, labeling them as baseless and lacking substantial evidence. Prior to this, the brothers had been subject to an internal travel ban. DIICOT's charges include forming a criminal group, human trafficking, and exploiting minors for pornography.
