The Bharat Bandh called by various groups opposing a recent Supreme Court order on SC reservation garnered mixed reactions across Rajasthan. Several markets were shuttered, and public transport was partially disrupted.

According to Director-General of Police U R Sahoo, the bandh was largely peaceful except for a few minor incidents. Police officials conducted numerous meetings to ensure order ahead of the bandh.

In Jaipur, a rally by the SC ST Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti against the Supreme Court ruling led to market closures until 3 PM. Authorities deployed additional police to maintain peace and order.

Essential services were excluded from the bandh's effects, and public transport was mostly operational in the morning before city buses were halted later. The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation took measures to ensure safe bus operations.

The August 1 Supreme Court order allows states to sub-classify Scheduled Castes for reservations, a move opposed by the bandh organizers who argue it undermines reservation's principles.
