Police in Istanbul have launched an extensive investigation following the fatal shooting of Israeli Arab businessman Abdulkadir Anas. The incident occurred on Sunday as Anas and two other men sat in a car.
Abdulkadir Anas's father refuted claims of any political motive, stressing that the family was apolitical. The attacker, using a silenced handgun, led to speculation about possible Israeli involvement, especially given Turkey's history of sheltering Hamas officials.
The Istanbul Governor's Office confirmed the attack was money-related. Three suspects fled to Bulgaria soon after the incident, using three vehicles to evade detection. So far, four arrests have been made, and two weapons recovered.
