The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has seized the property of an overground worker of the Hizbul Mujahideen terror group in Kashmir.
The property seizure is linked to the ongoing investigation into the targeted killing of Adoora village sarpanch Shabir Ahmad Mir in Kulgam.
Nasir Rashid Bhat's house in Tengpora village was attached under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act on orders from the NIA special judge in Jammu.
Bhat is implicated in the murder aimed at instilling fear among locals, part of a broader Hizbul Mujahideen plot to disrupt India's security. The investigation, now overseen by the NIA, found Bhat's extensive involvement including providing his car for terrorist activities and reconnaissance on the sarpanch's house.
Six people have been charged, with the trial ongoing.
