Earlier that day, AAP elevated Mukesh Ahlawat to Deputy Leader and appointed Jarnail Singh as General Secretary, while Sanjiv Jha was named Chief Whip. Ahlawat expressed his gratitude towards AAP's leadership through a social media post, thanking figures like National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and state leaders for the opportunity.

The leadership changes are part of a broader strategy to revitalize the party in Delhi after losing political ground to the BJP. Former Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj steps in as state chief, emphasizing organizational expansion. Other appointments include Gopal Rai for AAP Gujarat and Manish Sisodia for Punjab as AAP strategizes for future electoral contests.
