Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders on Friday acknowledged the justified public anger and grief over the brutal assault and murder of a woman trainee doctor in Kolkata. They stressed the necessity for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to maintain transparency and avoid letting the case fade away.
Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien described the crime as one of the most heinous he could imagine, urging that the CBI keep the public informed with daily updates and expedite the investigation to ensure justice by August 17. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee led a protest demanding justice for the victim.
TMC also refuted rumors and emphasized transparency in the investigation process. Leaders like Mahua Moitra clarified misinformation, urging the public to separate unequivocal facts from falsities. The outright focus remains on securing justice swiftly and stringently.
