Teenage Pregnancy Unveils Alleged Repeated Assault in Maharashtra

Police have registered a case against a 21-year-old man from Maharashtra's Palghar district, alleging that he repeatedly raped a 17-year-old girl from Thane city, an official revealed on Friday.
The case surfaced when the teenager, who became pregnant following the alleged sexual assault, delivered a baby at Thane Civil Hospital on August 12, according to the officer.
Prompted by the hospital authorities, Kasarwadavli police have charged the man under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, as shared by the official. The accused, hailing from Malwada near Vikramgad in Palghar district, allegedly assaulted the teenager after she declined his marriage proposal.
